Questionnair

The questionnaire was done so i could find out what my target audience would like in the trailer for the tommy man. It gives me a general idea of what my trailer include so that it impresses my target audience.

Film Poster Planning

This is the general idea of what I plan on doing to my poster. My characters are silhouetted add some mystery to the poster, I feel like it would complement the genre of my film and keep my audience guessing on what the main characters look like. But I added the actors names so they can put a face on the characters,  I positioned main character in the middle because it tells my audience that this is the main character due to hime being at the centre of attention. I put a another character on the bottom left corner to thinking it would add tension to the poster but i wasn't sure of what relation the character would have with the main one.  

I thought i would try challenging conventions by having the title behind character to build tension on the poster, this also makes my audience think that he is the main character due to hime being more important than the title itself. The text style is suppose to give of the this mafia effect in the 1920's - 50 this would give my audience a narrative sense giving them a hint that it is about gangsters. Including a tag line would set the tone of the film too by hinting the genre of the film

I have still yet to decide how my billing block will look like, where it will be, say or have and still need to decide what my tag line will say as well.        

Film Poster Development 2

I have slightly updated my film poster by adding an original image of my character. I decided to add a shadow to make the character look more intimidating and it also creates the image of that being a door with some light source so the shadow does add some realism to the poster a little bit.

I am still going to edited the white saluted character to be by adding the actor that is going to play him.

This is my film poster idea developed into something more professional looking. Both silhouetted characters are found images because at this time i was only developing on my plan so i was experimenting with poses and images before actually taking pictures of my actors.

The colour is what has changed most from my panning. By making it dark gives of that feeling of tension which is what i would like for my audience to be feeling. It resembles a room filled with secrecy the red resembles a door and the intent to kill which is why my character is holding a gun.

Having the characters coloured this way is to make my audience question who the bag guy is. So there could be questions raised like is killing him because he is a bad guy or is the main character with the gun a bad guy.

I have finally come up with a tag line which best suits my genre and tells the audience the situation that is happening in the poster.  I tried to add a shadow in this picture for the aesthetic appeal and continuity due to the light behind the main character, but couldn't due to not knowing how to.

Film Magazine Planning

This is how i plan my final idea to look genially, i plan to follow most of the conventions for my magazine because it would make the magazine look more official. Putting the main image in front of the masthead kind of goes against conventions. I did this because i wanted my audience to see the face of my actor and it tells the audience that this person is important i feel. adding the main cover lines also informs my audience of what would be included in the magazine whilst also catching their attention a little bit.

Including a Puff makes my magazine look more professional to my target audience, this would make the magazine more trustworthy due to its professional appeal.    

Film Magazine Development 1

As you can see it follows my planning with everything being positioned where i wanted it to be. Most of the images implemented on the magazine are original with the exception of the main cover line which is full images from other movies. i did this to make my magazine look more professional but i will add my own images in the future.

The colour scheme for this magazine suits the atmosphere of my film. The best part of this magazine would be my main image which really blends in with the theme of of the film and magazine itself.
